baby shower activities 2021

A baby shower is a wonderful way for friends and family to celebrate the soon-to-be parents and their bundle of joy by showering them with love, gifts, and good wishes. And, love them or hate them, no baby shower is complete without baby shower games!

While guests will always grin and bear it, you can still hear a muffled groan or two from those who can’t stand shower games. We’re here to make those groans disappear! There are so many ways to make baby showers exciting! Take a look at our lists of games and activities that will not make your guests cringe.

Baby Shower BINGO

Finding entertaining baby shower games can be a challenge, but BINGO is always an easy, fun favorite!

Things you need:

  • Printable baby shower bingo cards
  • A pen for each player
  • Selection of prizes

How to play:

  1. Print out enough BINGO cards for each participant.
  2. Write each word from the BINGO cards on separate pieces of paper and put them in a bowl.
  3. Distribute a BINGO card and pen to each player. Give the bowl to the bingo caller.
  4. The bingo caller will pick a word from the bowl and read it out. Each player must check to see if they have that word on their card and cross it out once they have it.
  5. Continue until someone gets a complete horizontal, vertical, or diagonal and shouts the word “BINGO!”

Nursery Rhyme Game

Test everyone’s knowledge for classic nursery rhymes with this nostalgic game! Create fill-in-the-blank cards with the lyrics to well-known nursery rhymes and see who can get the most answers correct. Make it challenging by picking words that are less obvious to have guests fill in.

Blind-Folded Diaper Changing

Give everyone a laugh by changing diapers blindfolded!

What you need:

  • Diapers
  • Baby dolls
  • Blindfolds

How to play:

  1. Prepare the dolls and diapers on the table.
  2. Blindfold each participant and make them stand behind the table with the baby doll in front of them.
  3. The first person to change the diaper the fastest and most effectively is the winner.

Don’t Say “Baby”

This will be a great icebreaker game to get your shower going. Guests should be attentive and refrain from saying the taboo word.

What you need:

  • 5 clothespins for each guest

How to play:

  1. Each guest pins 5 clothespins to themselves.q
  2. Steal a pin if you hear someone say, “BABY!”
  3. The person with the most pins at the end of the party will win a prize!

Baby Babble Word Scramble

Find out which guest is fluent in baby babble! Make a list of words that are related to babies and scramble them. The first person to unscramble all the baby babble words wins!

Onesie Decorating

This is a great game for first-time parents because not only will it be a fun activity for guests, but the decorated onesies can be used by the baby later. All you need are plain white onesies along with fabric markers or paint. Providing stencils or stamps can also make for faster decoration!

Baby Price is Right

Bob Barker isn't the only one who can set the stage for big wins! Buy 10 to 12 baby items you think the parents-to-be will need. Use blank note cards to write the price of each item on one side and the item itself on the other. Gather guests together and play it just like the TV show: each guest must guess the price of the items on the cards, and the person with the highest total, without going over, wins. Best of all, the parents-to-be get to keep the handy baby items used for the game.
